ドクタージョージ「ティンガリ・サイクル」 60ｘ61cm

アボリジニアートとは

オーストラリアには6万年とも言われる長い間人類最古のライフスタイルである「狩猟採集生活」をしながら広大な大陸を自由自在に移動してきた先住民”アボリジニ”の人々がいます。

彼らは「命溢れる豊穣な大地」と共存する中で文明とは異なる“何か”を築き上げてきました。「読む」「書く」といった文字を持たなかった彼らにとってその“何か”を次の世代に伝授する手段が絵を描くことだったのです。

もともと砂の上と体にだけ描かれてきた「文字に代わる」ビジュアルな言語が1971年に初めてアクリル絵具でキャンバスに表現されるようになり、現代美術界に大きな衝撃をもたらせました。西洋美術から一番かけ離れた偏狭地帯で描かれる「はだしのアーティスト」達の作品は今コンテンポラリーアートの最先端の美術品として大きく評価され世界各地のメジャーな美術館に所蔵されています。

アボリジニアートは芸術のために描かれた絵ではありません。まさに自分自身が大地と関わることへの喜びの表現といってもいいでしょう。その喜びをぜひわたしたちも一緒に共有してみようではありませんか。

ＡＢＯＲＩＧＩＮＡＬ ＡＲＴ

“Aborigine” are the native people who move freely on the vast continent of Australia, living by the "hunter-gatherer lifestyle” which has been came down for 60,000 years long. They have been built up “something” differs than the civilization while coexisting with the "fertile earth with full of life". Since they did not have the culture of “read” and “write”, their way to teach “something” to the next generation was to paint instead of using letters. Those visual languages, only drawn on the sand and body, first came
to be expressed on canvas with acrylic paints in 1971, brought a big shock to the contemporary art world. Pieces by "barefoot artists", drawn in far the most intolerant region from Western Art, are greatly valued as a leading contemporary art of today and now treated as a collection of major museums around the world. Aboriginal paintings were not for art. It is the expression of their pleasure to be involved with the earth. Let’s share and feel their joy together in this exhibition.

 

内田 真弓からのメッセージ

オーストラリアには２２０年前の植民地社会よりはるか太古から形を変えずに続くダイナミックな自然があります。その自然と長い間暮らしてきたアボリジニの深遠なる文化とユニークな芸術が私の人生に登場してから 16年がたちました。

常に自分に正直に、深くまっすぐ生きるアボリジニの人たちとたくさんの時間を共有するようになってからは私自身も自分の「こころ」の声にきちんと耳を傾けることの大切さをたくさん学習させてもらっています。
普段、忙しい日常で脳みそがパンパンになりがちな現代社会に生きる我々こそ「大地から生まれたアート」に触れてたくさんのエネルギーを感じてみませんか。

ギャラリー上原でのアボリジニアート展も今年で５年目を迎えました。
今年もわくわくする作品をたくさんご紹介します。会期中は毎日ギャラリーにおりますので、皆様お誘い合わせの上ぜひ足を運ばれてください。お目にかかれるのを心待ちいたしております。

Australia has a dynamic nature that continues from time immemorial than the colonial society of 220 years ago. Sixteen years had passed since the profound culture and the unique art of Aboriginal, who long-lived with nature, had appeared in my life.

From sharing a long time with Aboriginal people who are truly honest withthemselvesand always live straight for their heart, I have learned a lot about the importance of listening to the voice of my own “mind”. As we are spending a stressful and busy life in this modern society, I think we are the one who need to feel in touch with a great energy from the art that was born from the earth.

This year will be the 5th Aboriginal Art Exhibition at Gallery Uehara.
It is my pleasure to introduce many and new exciting Aboriginal Art pieces again in this year.Please come visit this special show with your friends and family. I will be at the gallery everyday during the exhibition. I am looking forward to seeing you at Gallery Uehara.
